Session 1: Data Rights and Valuation Presentation Presentation provided by Julia Klaren, Sr. Manager of Intellectual Capital Management at Collins Aerospace. Lunch Session 2: Understanding Artificial Intelligence-Valuing, Protecting, and Commercializing Novel Technology A moderated panel discussion that will help participants understand strategies for commercializing AI technologies, and recent case law that may influence the field moving forward. This session brings together the perspectives of academia, industry, and legal experts. Audience participation is encouraged. | Joseph Schneiders, Attorney, Dentons Davis Brown Joe is a patent attorney with Dentons Davis Brown and a former chemical engineer. His legal practice focuses on patents and trademarks. Joe has handled intellectual property matters in a wide variety of technology fields, including cutting-edge cancer treatments, carbon capture technology, optimized construction methods, bio-derived chemical goods, agricultural tools and systems, medical devices, and many others. Joe is an Iowa native and graduate of Iowa State University and Drake University. | 
| Dr. Hozhabr Mozafari, Licensing Associate, University of Iowa Research Foundation Dr. Hozhabr Mozafari is a Licensing Associate at the (UIRF). He joined UIRF in 2020 as a Postdoctoral Scholar and transitioned to his current role in 2022. Previously, he was a Commercialization Analyst Intern at NUtech Ventures. Hozhabr holds a PhD in Material Engineering and an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and an MSc and BSc in Railway Engineering from the Iran University of Science and Technology. His technical skills include micro-mechanics, medical devices, mechanotransduction, finite element method, and machine design, with experience in the safety and crashworthiness of railed vehicles. |
