Travel from NYC:
NY Waterway Ferry from 39th St. Midtown to Hoboken's 14th St. Ferry Stop.  Ferry runs every 20 minutes and trip length is 8 minutes.
8-10 minute walk to Hudson Table from the dock.
Travel from NJ:
Car - 95 to 495N to Weehawken/Hoboken Exit and local roads to Hoboken North. 
Note that Street Parking in Hoboken North is available, but a convenient paid lot is availalble at 1450 Garden Street, one street away.
Public Transport - NJ Transit Train to Hoboken. 10 minute Uber ride to event.

We have two guest speakers who will be discussing:

    • Funding or other types of financial assistance for start-up/early stage companies
    • Tax credits or other programs that are relevant for companies of all sizes
    • Community events/information sessions available to companies in the NY/NJ area (for example, office hours, etc.)

Speakers:

 

Loretta Beine

Loretta Beine is a Senior Director of Business Development at Empire State Development. Empire State Development, New York State’s economic development agency is committed to promoting business investment and growth that leads to job creation and prosperous communities across the state.

Though based on Long Island, Loretta offers business development, financial and technical assistance programs and services to companies in the biomedical sector throughout the NYS.

Loretta is an advocate for the 401 Project: 401s focus is to unite affected families, to increase awareness and to fund research projects designed to advance a cure for MECP2 Duplication Syndrome (MDS). MECP2 Duplication Syndrome is a genetic mutation ideally suited for targeted gene therapies. Nearly all cure research has been funded by families and friends of those affected by the set of symptoms.


Gail Feltham

Gail Feltham has worked in Life Sciences her entire career. Starting her career as a pharmaceutical representative in Midtown Manhattan, later she worked in academic publications with Elsevier and digital media with eMedicine. She worked as a vendor partner with Astra Zeneca when Crestor was in Phase III, during that period she traveled to Prague, as part of an investigators meeting. She later worked as a consultant through her company Shore Strategies Life Sciences, specializing in mentoring, commercialization strategy and fundraising for start-ups. Throughout her career, Gail has worked with some of the most renowned Thought Leaders in Anesthesiology, Cardiology, Diabetes and Oncology. She has worked as a VP, Sales & Marketing working for a Start-Up in Anesthesiology, and was instrumental in establishing their domestic as well as international distribution partners during the pandemic. She is currently the Director of Life Sciences Partnerships with the New Jersey Economic Development Authority working closely with legacy life science, mid-level and start-up companies, assuring that they are leveraging NJEDA incentive programs and growing Workforce in New Jersey.

She is a Professional Member of the American Society of Oncology (ASCO).  Gail resides at the Jersey Shore and holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing/Finance from St. Thomas Aquinas College.
