LES Published Standards
Licensing Executives Society (U.S.A. and Canada) (LES) is developing Intellectual
Property Standards. LES Standards are voluntary, consensus-based
professional practices guided by the "American National Standards
Institute's (ANSI's) Essential Requirements." (ANSI is the unique
accrediting agency in the United States for voluntary consensus
standards development organizations.) LES is an accredited ANSI
Standards Developer (ASD) and as such guarantees that
LES Standards are developed in a fair, balanced, consensus-based, due
process driven way.
LES Standards are designed to encourage and teach consensus practices in many of the business process aspects of intellectual capital (IC) management
and, where appropriate, offer enterprises the opportunity to
differentiate themselves based on their use of these consensus
professional practices, through certification of conformance to those
standards. LES Standards will be to the practice of IC management what
ISO 9001 is to the practice of quality management.
LES Standards, developed by practitioners for practitioners, are conceived to be tools with which enterprises can improve the way they do IC transactions, protect their innovation, extract value from their innovation, apply IC to their business strategies, and deal with third party IC.

ANSI/LES ICBR Version 1.0-2022 Intellectual Capital in the Boardroom
Corporate
board directors are accountable for safeguarding shareholder value,
which now includes appropriate oversight of intellectual capital (IC)
value enhancement and risk mitigation. The Licensing Executives Society
(LES) has been accredited by the American National Standards Institute
(ANSI) as a standards development organization, and this standard
articulates the process for adequate board oversight of IC management to
benefit the company and to help show that the board acted appropriately
in managing IC. This Standard identifies the process steps and key
principles for board directors to achieve those objectives in a
non-proscriptive manner. |

ANSI/LES Version 1.1-2022 Management System for the Protection of Intellectual Property in the Supply Chain - Requirements The “Management System for the Protection of Intellectual Property in the Supply Chain – Requirements” standard provides practical requirements in establishing and implementing an Intellectual Property (IP) Protection Management System (IPPMS). This system is aimed at achieving improvements in the protection of all types of IP within an organization and throughout all levels of its global supply chain. This LES Standard is applicable for any organization. The requirements described within this voluntary consensus-based LES Standard have been developed based on leading practices found among many different organizations in a wide variety of business sectors across the globe to enable an organization to implement an effective IPPMS within an organization and throughout its supply chain to mitigate the risk of unauthorized use of the organization’s and third-party IP. |
