Program:
This discussion will focus on breaking down the IP licensing agreements behind NFTs and other tokenized digital assets. Drawing on my article in Law.com entitled, “Breaking Down the NFT License Agreement for the Pre-Super Bowl Rihanna Song NFT That Entitles Owners to a Percentage of Future Digital Streaming Royalties," I will use that agreement as a case study for importance of Intellectual Property in the music industry and in the NFTs space and break down the license agreement behind the NFTs that were dropped by a music producer with ties to Rihanna, involving one of her songs, that included the rights to receive share of future streaming royalties. I will also discuss available IP strategies and approaches and how to implement them in agreements, drawing from my National Law Journal entitled, “Creative Approaches to IP in Web3.”

Learning Outcomes:
Practical learning about structuring IP licensing agreements in the web3 and NFT space across a variety of industries, including art and collectibles, fashion, metaverse/avatars, & music. - Techniques for applying different IP licensing strategies & schemes to the tokenized digital assets space
