Program: This is the 11th annual U.S. IP Year-in-Review presented by the Licensing Executives Society Silicon Valley Chapter. In just 90-minutes, leading experts will review the most important IP-related developments in 2023, including practical tips for everyday use. If you are in the business of obtaining IP rights, negotiating IP deals, writing agreements, enforcing IP rights or defending against IP attacks, this program is for you! CLE: 1.5 hours CLE credit available (California).

Mary Fuller, Regional Director, USPTO, Silicon Valley Regional Office
As Regional Director, Mary carries out the strategic direction of the Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the USPTO and is responsible for leading the USPTO's Western regional office based in
San Jose. Focusing on the region and actively engaging with the community, she ensures the USPTO’s initiatives and programs are tailored to the region's unique ecosystem of industries and stakeholders. Mary began her career in Silicon
Valley as a patent attorney at law firms, including Pennie & Edmonds, Carr & Ferrell, and Bingham McCutchen. Later she joined Santa Clara-based Marvell Semiconductor, Inc. as a senior patent litigation attorney, rising to become Director
and Managing Counsel for Litigation, and then served as Managing Director and Associate General Counsel at Maxim Integrated Products as the company’s first Chief IP Counsel. In 2022, Ms. Fuller served as the first Head of Legal at Jupiter
Intelligence. In 2018, with decades of experience as an engineer, patent attorney, general counsel and corporate advisor, Ms. Fuller founded Fuller Tech Law to provide intellectual property and fractional general counsel services for growth-minded
technology companies. Since 1998, Ms. Fuller has been a member and officer of the San Francisco Bay Area IP Inn of Court, and from 2010-2012 was elected as its first female president.

As a partner at Bunsow De Mory, Michael focuses his practice
on intellectual property litigation and licensing, and regularly represents clients in patent infringement, trade secret, trademark and other intellectual property litigation cases. He counsels clients on a variety of technology and intellectual
property agreements, including design and development, manufacturing and supply, product evaluation, and patent and trademark license agreements. He has represented large, mid-size, and start-up companies based in the United States, Japan
and Europe, including Volkswagen, Bradium, Skype, Amazon, Wacom, PRISM Pharma and Boston Scientific. In 2016 and 2017, he was recognized as a California “IP Star” by Managing Intellectual Property. He is also a cellist who performs with
two local orchestras and with area chamber groups.
