Larry Udell Larry Udell is a prominent figure in the fields of innovation, intellectual property, and entrepreneurship. His career spans over 60 years, marked by a deep commitment to fostering new ventures and mentoring countless individuals. He left the corporate world on March 31, 1964 and has devoted his life to a myriad of consulting challenges in the US and abroad. Udell's career is multifaceted, encompassing roles as an educator, consultant, and leader in all areas of intellectual property organizations. For over 40 years, Larry has taught "New Ventures and Entrepreneurship" courses, along with a specialized course on "Technology Marketing," at institutions like Cal State, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, and other universities across the U.S. and Canada. He has also served as Advisor to the President at New Mexico Tech at the Center for Leadership and Technology Commercialization. His lectures frequently focus on Entrepreneurship in America, and he has created special inventor educational programs for the USPTO including a monthly nationwide virtual program, “Successful Inventing”. He provides extensive consulting services to both start-ups and Fortune 500 companies, guiding them in all areas of product design, research, marketing, and financing. He has launched over 30 new ventures and collaborated with notable figures like Stephen Hawking, Bill Lear, and Dr. Forrest Bird. He is the Founder and Chairman of the California Invention Center (established in 1995 with federal funds.) It is an educational center for inventors throughout the world. He also founded Intellectual Property International LLC in 1998, working with 50 colleagues worldwide. A long-standing and active member of the Licensing Executives Society (LES) since 1982, he is the founder (2000) and Chairman Emeritus of the Silicon Valley Chapter of LES and also resurrected the San Francisco Chapter. He serves as Senior Consultant to General Patent Corporation and Vice President of American Innovators for Patent Reform. Udell has served as a United Nations (WIPO) representative on creating programs for economic development and diversity in several countries.
