In particular, it will explore case studies showcasing successful brand-driven partnerships and IP initiatives. Additionally, this session will discuss how IP owners have strategically deployed brand assets to create new opportunities, drive strategic visibility, grow brand strength, and create revenue streams.

Trudi Bordi, Vice President of Licensing, HDMI Licensing Administrator Inc.

Trudi Bordi serves as the Vice President of Licensing at HDMI Licensing, Inc., where she spearheads the organization’s global licensing strategy and oversees revenue operations. She is dedicated to optimizing licensing structures and proactively protecting intellectual property (IP) to maximize revenue.

A key architect of the company’s strategic direction, Trudi plays a pivotal role in global audits, compliance initiatives, and IP enforcement. She collaborates with cross-functional teams and external partners to safeguard HDMI’s IP rights across diverse international markets.

In her capacity, Trudi advises the CEO, Board of Directors, Founders, and the HDMI Forum on risk management and strategic growth opportunities. Her insights help the organization navigate evolving challenges while driving long-term IP expansion. She is instrumental in steering organizational transformation, ensuring that strategic initiatives align with the company’s overarching objectives.

Under Trudi’s leadership, the licensing team has grown fourfold, contributing to a 75% increase in revenue over the past decade. Her team has achieved an impressive 92% compliance reporting rate among adopters and successfully addressed trademark and infringement issues in key regions, including China and Taiwan, while continuously enhancing HDMI’s global IP portfolio.

Pete Canalichio, Founder and Managing Partner, Brandalive

Pete Canalichio is on a mission to help brands come alive in the hearts of those that experience them. An award-winning author of the Amazon #1 New Release, “Expand, Grow, Thrive” (2018) and most recently, “Strategic Brand Licensing” (2024), Pete is a TEDx speaker who has worked in the brand expansion and licensing industry for the past 25 years. His experience includes the US Navy, The Coca-Cola Company, Newell Brands, and most recently, BrandAlive, a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business that he founded in 2009.

Before starting his business career, Pete attended the U.S. Naval Academy where he earned a BS in physics. Pete went on to serve in the Navy as an award-winning aviator and instructor pilot, honing his leadership and decision-making skills as commander of a large multi-engine aircraft and 12-member crew during the height of Cold War tensions.

Pete earned his MBA from the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School, where he was a Richard H. Jenrette Fellow and salutatorian of his class. Throughout his career, Pete has operated in the global arena, having worked in more than 40 countries and managed extensive projects across national and continental borders.


Alan Kravetz, CEO, Full Sail IP Partners LLC

Alan has spent more than 30 years successfully growing brands and monetizing intellectual property worldwide, primarily through licensing.

A seasoned business strategist and marketing leader, Alan brings a diverse business background to the field of business acquisition and licensing, having served as President & COO of LMCA, Vice President at The Cherokee Group, President of the Frye Boot Company and Director of International Sales and Marketing at the Rockport Company (a division of Reebok). He has also consulted for such notable companies and brands as Coach, Kevlar, G.H. Bass, Gore-Tex, Kenneth Cole, Thorlo and Kodiak, and has represented inventors as their licensing agent for a variety of goods, from medical devices to footwear.

Alan served on the Board of Licensing International and serves as a mentor to rising industry professionals.  Additionally, Alan is a member of INTA and serves on the Commercialization of IP Committee, having previously served on the Famous and Well Known Marks Committee and the Brands and Innovation committee.  He is a frequent speaker on trademark licensing and strategy at conferences, trade shows and continuing legal education seminars.

Alan earned both his undergraduate degree cum laude and MBA from Boston University, and his law degree from Suffolk University School of Law.  Alan is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and in the First Circuit of the Federal courts.

Johanna Sullivan, Founder & Principal, Beam Strat Group

Johanna Sullivan is the Founder and Principal of BEAM Strat Group, where she serves as a fractional partnerships executive helping companies’ architect comprehensive partnership ecosystems for asset-light growth and global market expansion.

A seasoned global partnerships and licensing leader, Johanna brings deep experience building billion-dollar brand ecosystems for iconic companies including Coca-Cola, Kimberly-Clark, Serta Simmons, Newell Brands, and Nexii Building Solutions. Her expertise spans multi-market business development, cross-border operations, and governance frameworks that enable scale and compliance across 140+ international markets.

Throughout her career, Johanna has consistently delivered transformative results. At Newell Brands, she redesigned fragmented partnerships teams into a unified global enterprise function, contributing multi-million-dollar royalty revenue and several billion in retail sales. During her tenure at Serta Simmons, she scaled licensing portfolios generating billions in annual retail sales and achieved +15% EBITDA impact over five years. At Kimberly-Clark, she spearheaded the company’s largest global partnership with Disney across 7 brands, managing multi-million dollar annual royalty spend and successfully negotiated the first Kimberly-Clark / Disney parks long-term partnership.

Johanna has led enterprise-wide implementations for contract analysis, pipeline development, and performance optimization. Her governance frameworks have been adopted across multiple organizations, consistently achieving compliance rates above 90%.

Johanna is recognized for building and inspiring high-performing global teams while driving operational excellence. She is fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, enabling her to operate effectively across diverse international markets.

Johanna earned her BBA in Finance and International Business from Georgia State University and is currently pursuing her MBA at Auburn University.
