LES is pleased to announce the creation of a new chapter: LES Iowa. At the LES Board of Directors Meeting on February 26, 2017, the creation of the Iowa Chapter was approved unanimously. This was made possible through the diligent work of Mihaela Bojin and James Holcombe, who personally contacted and sought out LES Iowa members to gauge the level of interest in forming a chapter and then obtain the required petition signatures to present to the LES Board. Mihaela and James were pleased to realize that numerous LES members were interested in forming a chapter, and they were able to secure more than the required minimum petition signatures.
The volunteer leaders have planned multiple engaging events for 2017 in various cities around the state. The inaugural event is scheduled for April 24 at a community college near Cedar Rapids. This will be a half-day event with two speakers discussing the importance of IP and the protection of U.S. trade secret assets. The program includes lunch and will provide ample time to network with other IP professionals and discuss the future of the chapter and how to attract membership involvement.
LES is thrilled to support the creation of a new chapter and thanks Mihaela Bojin and James Holcombe for their time and dedication in leading this effort. Their diligence in contacting members statewide to find interested members is commendable and much appreciated. Congratulations, LES Iowa!
