LES DC Chapter Webinar: Communicating the Value of Academic Technology Transfer
Intellectual property has long played a major role in western society, and has been a part of academic research in the US from the very beginning. With the scale up of federally funded research in the 20th century, it’s importance has increased -- and skyrocketed with the passage of the Bayh-Dole Act of 1980. We’ll review some history, successes, and motivation for why technology transfer is essential for academic research to achieve its full potential and maximum impact for society and the economy.
