"The annual number of U.S. Design Patent Applications filed each year and those annually issued by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (""USPTO"") continues to increase. U.S. Design patents are increasingly becoming strategic value-added components to patent families and portfolios. Additionally, U.S. Design Patents are being increasingly licensed and litigated. This session will explore strategies for protecting emerging technologies through U.S. Design Patent prosecution, licensing, and enforcement. It should also be noted that while this session could be a stand-alone session, the substance of this session could also be combined in a broader session addressing ""Design Protection on Emerging Technologies"" in general."
