2020-03-12 1200 HTS- Internet of Things webinar_ Managing IoT Privacy and Security Risks

The rise of connected devices offers exciting new opportunities as well as challenges for stakeholders across many sectors. IoT devices offer the promise of enhanced business efficiencies, innovative new products and enhanced consumer convenience. At the same time, securing myriad devices and data, across industry sectors and varied environments, is a complex challenge that must be addressed. The mission of NIST’s Cybersecurity for IoT Program is to cultivate trust in the IoT and foster an environment that enables innovation on a global scale through standards, guidance, and related tools. This session will present an overview of NIST’s IoT cybersecurity efforts to date, as well as planned actions on both a domestic and global scale.

Learning outcomes:

• Learn the ways IoT cybersecurity and privacy risks are not addressed in existing IT guidance
• Be able to articulate cybersecurity and privacy risk considerations unique to IoT
• Gain insight into NIST’s cybersecurity for IoT initiatives to date and what’s next on the roadmap
• Understand the global landscape of IoT security initiatives that have already been implemented or are under development
