The Monetization or sale of future Royalty Income has been an increasing popular mechanism for the owners of Intellectual property to raise near term capital or secure needed finance. In life sciences in particular, the sale of pharmaceutical and device royalties to investment funds has become increasingly common. Royalty sellers today include Universities, Non-profit foundations as well as large and small Corporate Organizations seeking to maximize value and de-risk future cash flows.
