IUGI Sector Plan
MISSION STATEMENT
The IUGI Sector promotes interaction, collaboration, and sharing of best practices by and between licensing and technology transfer professionals in the Industry, University (non-profit), and Government fields, along with the greater investment, business, and legal communities. The IUGI Sector also fosters industry collaboration with LES Sectors, Committees, and general membership.
SELECT OBJECTIVES FOR 2014-15
- Create volunteer roles and build strategy toward increasing IUGI Sector membership levels and retention in support of the LES 2020 member and retention goals.
- Continue to promote interactions and dialog between the other LES Sectors that bridge industry, university, and government.
- Continue to serve as a dialogue platform between the greater business and financial communities and LES and LESI communities to add to the industrial element of the IUGI Sector.
- Proactively seek out new IUGI Sector members to serve on the IUGI Sector Leadership Committee.
- Actively encourage attendance/participation at both the Mid-Year and Annual Meetings.
- Host IUGI Sector networking events with other sectors or special interest groups at both the Mid-Year and Annual Meetings.
- Provide one to three inputs for LES Insights, les Nouvelles, and/or Viewpoints.
SELECT GOALS FOR 2014-15
- Provide at least two IUGI Sector-focused Mini-Plenary Events/Workshops at the 2015 Mid-Year and Annual Meetings.
- Develop sector member driven programming with LESI IUG Transactions Professional Standing Committee.
- Update contents of IUGI Sector webpage including Sector Plan, Leadership Bios, and IUGI Messaging.
- Actively promote the benefits of IUGI Sector involvement across LES.
- Increase the participation in IUGI Sector Leadership Committee opportunities. Focus on new leader candidates.
- Provide bi-monthly, content-based webinars.
SECTOR LEADERSHIP TELECONFERENCES
To be held monthly, during the third week of the month (30 minutes maximum).
SECTOR TOPIC OF INTEREST WEBINARS
Three to four per year, with a goal of developing more cross sector and cross-society events.
