In celebration of World IP Day 2017, the LES Atlanta Chapter hosted a lively discussion about IP and legal issues relating to Georgia’s thriving film industry.  There was a great turn-out for this event, and the speakers provided engaging insights.

Craig Dominey of the Georgia Film Office provided an overview of various film-production activities in Georgia and related infrastructure that has developed around those activities.

Don Madrik of Proscenium Capital explained certain financial incentives used to draw large productions to the region.  In addition, Lisa Moore of The Moore Firm discussed IP and legal issues that may arise, mostly during pre‑production, in the areas of copyright, trademark, and third-party contracts.

Matt Warenzak of Smith, Gambrell & Russell moderated the discussion and shared his enthusiasm for the local film industry.
