The LES High-Tech Sector educates our members about the latest trends in technology areas ranging from established areas such as Semiconductors, Software and Automotive to emerging applications in markets like AI and IoT. Join our webinars to learn from experts in their fields about how intellectual property enables, protects, and powers these technology trends.

The mission of the LES High Technology Sector:

• Provide a forum for member engagement, networking, and professional skills development
• Identify and curate High Tech IP, licensing and technology trends
• Translate trend intelligence into webinars, meeting content, and LES publications
• Collaborate with other sectors, local chapters, LESI, the standards effort, and other initiatives across LES

High Technology Sector Goals & Objectives:

Education

• Organize at least 2 HTS wide webinars per committee
• Submit at least one workshop per committee to the 2023 Annual Meeting
• Bring back the HTS monthly newsletter with member-generated content, recap of webinars/workshops, coverage of chapter events, original articles

Engagement

Goal: Increase sector membership and member engagement through meaningful networking and LES-wide collaboration

Objectives

• LES-wide outreach & collaboration – organize at least one webinar, conference workshop, networking event with: Other LES Sectors/Committees,  Local Chapters (Detroit, Silicon Valley chapter live-stream events)
• Strengthen ties with LESI – recently appointed two HTS liaisons to LESI (Michael Fluhler, Stephen Kabakoff)
• Support LES educational efforts

Evolution

Goal: Constantly evolve the HTS organization and activities to stay abreast of new technology, IP trends and member interests.

Objectives

• Ensure continuity of leadership through the selection of new committee leaders to fill open positions
• Consider new committees to reflect trends and member interests (based on Member Survey done earlier this year); for example: added an AI committee, considering a new Blockchain committee
• Support the LES standards initiative
